A POTTERY GIRL’S ROMANCE – Classic local Melodrama
A special evening based around this classic melodrama filmed in Stoke in 1918 – produced for the Burslem Picture Palace. Rare interviews with the families of the film’s stars and background archive material – with a special feature on the film’s Villain; Jack Green. Plus: A full screening of the surviving part of the film with live piano accompaniment.
To help celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the film in 2018, Chis Parr from Shine in Media will produce a short fictional film that runs alongside the original footage – he outlines his plans here.
There is a supporting feature on another locally-made film – Five Towns (1946) – with insight from original local cast members and showing of key scenes.
All welcome,
